An Inexpensive Car Can Make a Better Option
Automobiles are status symbols. We've all seen the stories about moguls with multi-story garages and huge luxury car collections. A better option could be an inexpensive car for some. Cheap in price doesn't have to mean cheap in quality. Fun can be had with a less expensive car.
Buy a discounted used car if you want to save some cash. Second hand luxury models are cheaper than new. High quality used cars have come to be called pre-owned. Some people who always bought new have crossed over into pre-owned. Consider top model cars. A Mercedes or Lexus is so well built that even 10 year old cars can still be in excellent condition. A lot of people buy slightly used instead of new car after car.Remember the chauffeur in “Driving Miss Daisy”? He always bought Miss Daisy's second hand, luxury cars.
There are also some nice, low cost new cars. Hyundai makes some models that are decent for less than $12K. A well engineered car like the Honda Civic is only around $15K. That's a good car that gets great mileage and lasts forever. These cars are also much cheaper to maintain than luxury cars that often require more expensive parts and even premium grades of gas.
Try the cheaper, not really cheap, luxury cars. Audi has some luxury models that generally sit at the bottom price in their class. Audi boasts the top engineered cars in the world, bar none. A less expensive luxury sports car is the Audi TT.
Some people mean really cheap when they say cheap. They turn to the clunker, the hooptie, the ancient model car that was probably old when their parents first bought a car. Teens often buy this style of car. As long as it's safe to drive, it gets them from A to B. But watch out, when doing car comparisons the age old adage “You get what you pay for” applies to cheap cars too. It may not seem like such a deal when it won't start on a cold winter morning.
